It seems to go longer and longer between posts but with school wrapping up I have been pretty busy. I plan on ordering their school books next month so that is out of the way. We are planning our trip back to KC around June 12th and I will stay two weeks before heading back home. Eric was planning on going with us but has since changed his mind since summer is the busy season in refrigeration. I can't wait to see everyone, especially my mom, I am missing her horribly. By that time we should have our new addition to the family and I cannot wait to see him either.

The kids are so excited to stay with Nani and Grandpa Ky-Ky and I don't know what I will do for that week. Eric says I will start missing them within two days and then he claims I will stay in the fetal position until they arrive home...he's probably right. I know they will have a blast you my mom and my Daddy Ky-Ky and I also know they will be well taken care of.

Next week is the last week of ball for Jimmy and he does not like that one bit. Teresa and I have decided to keep the kids as busy as possible this summer so they don't feel so bored without outside activities. Taylor will also be joining a ball team this fall and that should keep us busy enough. I am looking into a homeschooling group for the summer as well but most people don't work throughout the summer except on math and language, so I think it might be a challenge. I may have to start my own and I may do that next summer once we have really started the involvement with other kids like them. I was blown away to find so many people homeschool in Lakeland.

Columbine High School Shooting Anniversay

I never thought I would be writing about this but I just found some very disturbing video about that horrific day and it brought me to tears. I know for a fact after watching this video and along with all the new events that happen in schools these days, my children will never return to a public school. I have seen footage from this school shooting but I have never seen the shooters walking around with their guns and the smoke and fire and actually seeing one of the precious children that lost their lives that day, lay there, dead. I cried and I'm telling you I cried hard. I felt their fear and I felt as any parent would with children watching this. I think who ever made this video didn't do it as something funny, I think they made it so we could see what really happened that day and all the lives that were lost.

I hear on the news daily about teachers, principals and kids that destroy a safe environment for our children and that saddens me. Why can't we send our children to school knowing that they will be okay? Why can't we let them play outside and be kids? This is not what I imagined raising a child would be like...total fear. How can you make sure your child won't be the aggressive one that loses all hope and turns a gun on classmates? I feel for every child that has lost a life in these school shootings but, I also feel for the ones that have caused it as well, something was not right with them, something happened because we are not born that way, they were children too.

I planned on one day sending my children to middle school/high school, but I don't feel safe with that decision and I have decided I will continue home schooling until they graduate. I love my babies and I could not live with myself if I sent them to a place that I don't feel is safe.

My heart goes out to all at Virginia Tech where tragedy has hit this past week. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and I can only hope that you find peace and strength to be able to move on.

Easter Egg Hunt

Happy Easter

David and Bev invited us to have Easter dinner with them and their family and it was a great time as well. Eric made his pineapple upside-down cake and I make a pasta salad and had a great turkey dinner with all the fixings. We all enjoyed watching the kids play and hunt eggs and after all the fun, Teresa, decided she was going to show off her pitching skills. A lot of laughs and really good times. Thanks for having us, we all really enjoyed it.

Gabby

I have shown many pictures of my Gabby sitting around like this and I swear this is her normal sitting position. I finally got some video and it looks like she is sitting on the couch watching TV. I have to say this is the most unfriendly cat I have ever had and I can probablycount on my hand how many times I have actually been able to pet her, but I do love her a lot. She has been coming around lately and lets me put my hand out to her but maybe in the next couple of years I will be able to hold her on my lap and actually pet her.

Next year we will have babies galore!

Another Baby

Congratulations to Greg and Alisha Jack, they are expecting their second baby in November! I have to say I was shocked when I went to check your blog and the first thing I saw was a weekly baby calender. I am so happy for the two of you and for Izabel as well, she's going to a big sister! Best of luck to you both and I will talk to you soon.
Today is my first official day watching Isaiah. I will start watching him three days a week to help Teresa out. It will be like any other day to me because he is usually here 7 days a week to play with Jimmy. Both of the boys are so excited. Teresa was telling me yesterday that when Jimmy was up playing he asked Isaiah if he would be his brother, how cute. I have never seen two kids love each other so much, I am glad Teresa and Isaiah have come into our lives.
